Missing Tire Valve Caps May Be Robbing Your Gas Tank

SHERMAN OAKS, CA - According to the Federal Government website www.fueleconomy.gov, “Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage by 0.4 percent for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires. Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer.” The site indicated that, “You can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3 percent by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure.”

Mr. Omar Abdallah, co-founder of Capsure and inventor of Capsure Tethered Tire Caps, comments on the recent hike in gasoline cost at the pump: “Now that we’re paying about $4 a gallon for gas, tire caps are more valuable than ever.”  You may think: “Oh, this can’t be that important” when you look around and see many tire caps missing on cars.  “Well! The truth is,” says Mr. Abdallah “missing tire caps directly result in leaking valve stems that reduce fuel economy, compromise safety and lead to unnecessary tire wear.”  When a tire cap is missing, the valve stem is exposed to all kinds of dirt, grime and particles from the driving roads.  The next time air is added to your tires; these particles will get pushed and lodged into the valve seals, resulting in leaking and under-inflated tires.  “With Capsure Tethered Tire Caps on your tires,” emphasized Mr. Abdallah, “rest assured you’ll never lose a tire cap again.” He added further: “Capsure Tethered Tire Caps stay attached to the tire valve even when removed for air; think of it as a tire cap on a leash.  You won’t ever forget your tire caps by the gas station air compressor again.  And if you (or your mechanic) forget to screw the caps back on, they will be waiting for you right where you left them: connected to the tire valve.

Mr. Jeffrey Ho, also co-founder and inventor of Capsure Tethered Tire Caps says: “Capsure Tethered Tire Caps are the finest quality tire cap system available.  It combines a high quality anti-seize 303 Stainless Steel Cap with a durable, UV protected Kevlar Reinforced Tether.”  “We take pride not only because the Caps are 100% American,” Mr. Ho enthusiastically stated, “but also, in our ability to provide a premium product, cost competitive without manufacturing it overseas.”

Referring to an EPA study, showing that the average car fuel economy is about 20.3 mpg, Mr. Abdallah indicated that a car consumes 591 gallons a year on the average if driven 12,000 miles.  With today’s gas prices, it translates into a savings of about 13 cents a gallon if secure tire caps are used with properly inflated tires. At under $15 a set, using Capsure Tethered Tire Caps quickly pays for itself by reducing leaks that can save up to $80 annually in fuel, reducing costly valve stem and cap replacements, improving safety and tire wear; and making the process of checking your tires a little easier.

Carnegie Mellon University studies found that 80 of 81 random vehicles in a parking lot had under-inflated tires, with an average of 20% under-inflation.  And the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated about 1.2 billion gallons of gas are wasted annually due to under-inflation.  More than anything, Mr. Ho says, “Safety is priority with properly inflated tires, and tire valve leaks may be reduced with the use of these simple easy to install tire caps.”
